Children Take Over The School Day - 21st January 2022
What an amazing end to the week we had with our highly anticipated ‘Children Take Over The School Day’ This was a priority from the Autumn term that the School Council had proposed in their manifesto.
The meticulous planning of all our prefects ensured that the day ran without a hitch. It was jam packed with engaging activities that our Teacher Prefects planned and delivered with real confidence and charisma. Planning English, Maths, PE and Art activities for classes 1 and 2. They also delivered Celebration Assembly and had an impromptu Singing Assembly.
Our Year 5 children helped prepare the lunches based on the menu choices they had circulated and collated the data previously. This was most definitely ‘Team Work in Action’ and gave our Upper Key Stage 2 children the opportunity for invaluable work experience.
During the lesson planning stages all the prefects commented on how complex it is and said that they were in awe of the work that goes into being a teacher. Well they most definitely delivered and it was incredible to see how confident our Teachers of the Future' were in front of the children.
Thank you to our School Chef for all her help with preparing the lunch menu with the Year 5’s – Our budding chefs clearly had the very best time baking for all their peers.
We finished the day with Fun at the field.
Next week our School Council Class Representatives will be holding meetings to propose the next priorities to be put to the ballot for this term. We are excited to see what they will plan for this term.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
