What a beautiful Christingle service today in Christ Church Brentor. We spent the morning learning about the symbolism of the elements of the Christingle with members of the church community as we created our own Christingles.
Our service was led by Rev. Dr. Hazel Butland ably assisted by our prefects. At their final Christingle, in a MTB uniform they performed their duties, delivered their readings beautifully and a special mention to Miri for her Flute solo of the first verse of Away In a Manger. Thank you to all those parents/ carers who were able to attend and share in our celebration - we sang our little hearts out
I received this lovely email from Rev.Dr Hazel Butland:
I loved the Christingle service. It was delightful and the children were so well behaved. It was lovely watching their faces as they were carefully carrying in their lit Christingles.
They sang really well, you had obviously spent a lot of time rehearsing the carols. I am so pleased we sang 'This little light of mine' at the end before they walked out, the clapping to the tune after the last verse provided a wonderfully uplifting end to the service.
It required significant planning, but it was really worthwhile and I shall remember it with joy for a long time.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
